Miss Mercedes sent me a link to a scooter for sale a few minutes ago, despite the fact that neither of us are supposed to be buying anything, of course we’re both looking. Well, turns out, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , my first scooter.

The seller on FB is the guy I sold it to. The mileage is listed at 5k, which it was knocking on the door of when I sold it to him this p ast summer ... for almost twice as much as he’s asking. Somebody dropped him off, I started it up for him, and without as much as a test ride he paid me $1100 cash and rode off.

The “fresh gear fluid” I put in two years about 600 miles ago.

$600 is a fantastic deal. I wish I could buy it back and flip it in the spring. I know a certain member of Oppo who will be drooling over this thing.

I may or may not have a window open to Craigslist on my work machine 24/hrs a day and visit FB Marketplace before bed.

Thankfully I already have scooter fix, whew..

Honestly, if my wife wouldn’t kill me for buying another vehicle, I’d buy it back. I had to work to get $1100 out of that guy, but I had half a dozen offers for $1000. I guarantee if I put it up for a grand when the weather gets nice , I’d have $950 cash in my hand within a couple days.

Actually it’s a very common thing among people who resell motorcycles. Our state limits how many vehicles you can sell under your name without an expensive dealer license. I’m technically right at the yearly sale limit, however since I had n’t yet transferred the titles on a few of the bikes before I sold them they don’t count against me. And they don’t count against the titled owner either...well, not any more than it would have if I transferred the title.

But the guy with shop-teacher’s scooter is selling it for far less than he bought it for, so I’m not sure what the angle is there aside from maybe they realized scoots aren’t for them?
